Chakras are spinning vortexes of energy, which both take in and emit life-force energy. There are 8 main chakras down the centerline of the body from the top of the head to the bottom of the torso. When all chakras are spinning evenly and in concert with one another, the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual systems of the body are in balance.

Therapeutic-grade emotional essential oil blends are excellent for balancing and blending the chakras. Harmony and Sandalwood open the chakras.

Note: all essential oil blends and singles mentioned are therapeutic-grade and are available at my website, The Very Essence.

The solar plexus responds beautifully to Juniper, the heart to Rose or the blend called Joy, the brow or 3rd eye chakra to Awaken and Dream Catcher and the crown to Sacred Mountain and 3 Wise Men. Young Living emotional blends on the chakras offer infinite possibilities for deep and lasting shifts.

How to apply essential oils for Chakra Balancing:

One easy method is to simply place a drop of undiluted Young Living essential oil into your hand (use only therapeutic-grade oils). Place a drop into your non-dominant hand; stir the oil clockwise with the fore and middle fingers of your dominant hand to potentize the oil with your body’s frequencies. Then lightly rub hands together to disperse oil evenly, and finally, cup your hands over your nose taking a small breath of the oil and wait a minute to see how you respond. If you feel as if you can take in more, take three deep breaths of the oil into your body.

And remember, when you apply essential oils to yourself or others with your hands, you can take in the oils too by cupping your hands over your nose and inhaling for added benefit! Another method is “neat” application, whereby you apply the oil topically to the skin, using the same method above.

Star Chakra / Entire Energy Field / “I AM” / Element: UNCONDITIONAL LOVE

Harmony is a blend of oils that greatly amplifies the frequency in the entire energy field within seconds. Rub a drop or two in your hands and run them through your energy field to “amp you up”. Cup hands over mouth; inhale 3x. White Angelica ˆ one drop, rub between hands and rub on shoulders for protection.

Crown Chakra (Pineal Gland) / “I KNOW” / Element: THOUGHT

Frankincense works immediately (as in, it begins working when you open the cap) on opening the Pineal Gland, which many believe is the connection that opens one to Spirit communication and communion with your Higher Power. Prayerfully anoint your crown with one drop neat (direct application), put one drop on hands, activate the oil’s frequency by stirring with fingertips clockwise 3x, cup hands over nose/mouth; inhale 3x.

Brow or Third Eye Chakra (Pituitary Gland) / “I SEE” / Element: LIGHT

Sandalwood, Cedarwood, or 3 Wise Men work to open the Third Eye for clairvoyance enhancement. Take one drop in hand, activate it and apply neat to center of forehead, rubbing 3x in a clockwise motion (up on the right, around and down on the left). Take one drop and circle on the right (creative) temple, then run your finger across the forehead to the left (logical) temple and circle there to establish a harmonious and balanced connection between your left and right brain. Cup hands over nose/mouth; inhale. Other excellent oils for the mind and third eye are Awaken, Brain Power, Clarity, Envision, Inspiration and Dream Catcher.

Throat Chakra (Thyroid Gland) / “I SPEAK” / Element: SOUND

Hope, Release, 3 Wise Men and Frankincense all help to set your intent and open your Throat Chakra and allow clear communication with Spirit or with those you are counseling. Activate the oil in your palm; rub in a clockwise direction on the throat chakra front and back (behind the neck, on the brain stem). As always, cup hands over nose/mouth and Inhale! Inhale! Inhale!

Heart Chakra (Thymus Gland) / “I LOVE” / Element: AIR

Joy, Humility, Rose and Acceptance will assist in taking you to a place of openness and acceptance of all messages sent to and received from Spirit. Take a drop or two, activate the frequency and apply to the Heart Chakra in a clockwise direction, 3x. Cup hands over nose/mouth and inhale!

Solar Plexus Chakra (Spleen) / “I CAN” /Element: FIRE

As this chakra has to do with your gut instinct, power and control, oils that will help to balance and open this chakra are Juniper, Surrender, Release, Sacred Mountain, and Dream Catcher. Rub one drop in clockwise direction on stomach (upper abdomen), rub hands together and inhale 3x.

Navel or Sacral Chakra (Reproductive Organs, Adrenals) / “I FEEL” /Element: WATER

Forgiveness, Inner Child, SARA (if working through any type of abuse), Frankincense, 3 Wise Men Any of these oils will help balance and support this chakra, which deals with issues of our inner child and relationship issues. This chakra is associated with the parts of the consciousness concerned with food and sex. It is about the body’s communication to the Being inside, about what the body wants and needs, and what it finds pleasurable.

Root Chakra (Gonads) / “I KNOW” /Element: EARTH

Security, survival, trust, relationships with money, home, and job. Essential oils to open and balance this chakra are Sandalwood, Patchouli, Grounding, Cedarwood, and Ylang Ylang. Rub one drop on base of spine and then rub hands together and inhale 3x.

Bottoms of Feet

Always ground yourself before any type of meditation or spiritual reflection/meditation. Essential oils that assist with this are Grounding and Valor. Take one drop per foot; rub on bottom of foot and on big toes. Inhale!

Do you know about the power of therapeutic-grade Essential Oils and the beneficial effects they can have in your home?!!!

Here is some information that I think will amaze you….

Highly concentrated, essential oils contain virtually all of the plants healing nutrients, oxygenating molecules, trace minerals, enzymes, vitamins, hormones and more. Because they are concentrated, therapeutic grade essential oils are from 50 to 70 times more potent than the dried herbs or fresh plants that they are derived from.

Unlike dried herbs, which can lose up to 90% of the healing nutrients and oxygen molecules, property harvested and distilled Essential Oils do not.

Research further shows that Essential Oils when applied to the soles of the feet will penetrate every singe cell of the body within 21 minutes.

Because the life force of the plant is contained in Essential Oils, and because this life force synergizes so favorably with the human body, Essential Oils are now being considered as medicine by some of the world’s most prominent doctors.

Clinical research has proven 100% pure therapeutic-grade (without solvents or chemical additives), Essential Oils can:

• support a healthy Immune system
• create an environment unfriendly to viruses, bacteria, fungus
• act as a general antiseptic
• can retard or inhibit tumor growth

Recent research has also shown that many of the so called “super germs” that has modern medicine so concerned, cannot survive in the presence of certain Therapeutic Grade Essential oils.

Read more about essential oils and supergerms and find my small but growing list of scientific studies.

This is certainly a message of hope!

Being sad after a death or other significant life event is not only to be expected, it’s natural. It’s also rather taboo in our culture. Emotional pain? If you’re experiencing a loss or significant emotional event, you’re likely to hear one of the following myths:

  • £        Time Heals All Wounds
  • £        Grieve Alone
  • £        Be Strong
  • £        Don’t Feel Bad
  • £        Replace the Loss
  • £        Keep Busy

As related in “The Grief Recovery Handbook – the Action program for Moving Beyond Death, Divorce and Other Losses” by John James & Russell Friedman:

Just looking at the myth that “time heals” creates the idea that a person just has to wait and they will feel better. We have known people who had waited 10, 20, 30, and 40 years, and still didn’t feel better. And, we know that they would tell you that not only had time not healed them, but that it had compounded the pain. The other five myths carry equally unhelpful messages. Understanding that these common messages won’t get us closer to recovery is the first step.Beleiving that recovery IS possible is another significant step.

In some ways, starting the journey toward recovery requires a step of faith. Often the action steps require us to take the action without the feeling that there will be a positive outcome. This is where the hope comes in.Have you put your hope in a therapy? Therapist? Alternative type of care? Exercise, Nutrition, Massage, New Relationship, Career or other distraction? As you’ve probably already learned, those may distract for the short term, but never quite accomplish that full sense of completion that allows you to move on with your fullest life experience. The hope wasn’t misplaced in and of itself, it just needed a proven action-plan for support.

In our efforts to follow the advice of professionals, friends and family, most of us would do whatever we’re told. Says James, “Recovery from loss is accomplished by discovering and completing all of the undelivered communications that accrue in relationships. Completion of pain caused by loss is what allows us to Let Go and Move On. It is almost impossible to Move On without first taking a series of actions that lead to completion.” learn more about these actions and see testimonials of individuals who have experienced true grief recovery. http://grow.vpweb.com/

It is estimated that Americans spend $14 Billion dollars, every year, on our Sleep Disorders!

• 58% of adults experience symptoms of insomnia a few nights or more per week

• 35% of adults report at least one symptom of insomnia every night or almost every night

• For those looking for a safe, effective, and cost-effective alternative, Young Living’s beautiful essential oils stand alone.

• Try some oils tonight before you go to sleep. You may be pleasantly surprised!

“I use Essential Oil of Cedarwood on my feet before I go to bed and sleep like a baby! It stimulates the pineal gland which releases natural Melatonin. I feel this is also good for the brain since Cedarwood is high in sesquiterpenes [brain food]. I have also used Alkalime and Lavender for sleep….love it.” ~ Jackie, Texas ~

“When my sister died last year, I found myself facing insomnia for the first time in my life. I’d go to bed as normal but would have trouble even getting 2 hours sleep a night. I had heard that Valerian could be good for insomnia, so I ordered a bottle from Young Living. I’d put a few drops under my tongue and then – because it didn’t smell great – I put a drop of Lavender on the tip of my nose which masked the smell. It was a wonder! I was sleeping again and never was groggy in the morning. The National Institutes of Health has a website devoted to Valerian for Insomnia and Sleep Disorders.

Just as an aside, I’m a big fan of 19th century Russian literature and one of my favorite writers is Anton Chekhov, who was actually a country doctor as well as a writer. In one of his plays, The Sea Gull, the doctor in the play named Dorn asks his patient if he’d like some Valerian drops for his insomnia. So this has been a traditional remedy. Valerian Root is generally regarded as safe (GRAS) for ingestion by the FDA. I would just make sure the oil ingested is therapeutic grade. I highly recommend the Valerian/Lavender combo for insomnia.” ~ Kathryn ~

“I put my daughter to sleep every night with a story and a kiss. Recently, I have added some reflexology techniques and the rubbing of Peace and Calming essential oils to the bottom of her feet, and some in her palms to smell deeply. The two of us become so relaxed and sleepy that we had to change our nightly ritual to stories first and oils last. She sleeps so soundly her blankets stay perfectly neat until she wakes up in the morning. Wonderful!” ~ Stacy ~

“Last year I was having problems with sleeping at night so I decided I would try the Valor oil to see if it would help me out. I tried putting 2 drops on the bottom of both feet and then with the oil on my hands, I would cup them in front of my mouth and nose and take 6-8 deep breaths. Since I started with this routine I have been getting a full night’s sleep and waking up very refreshed. My husband has been using it also and is sleeping better with a lot less snoring.” ~ Anne ~
